Bringing Your Loved Ones to the UAE
If you’re a foreign citizen residing on a UAE residence visa, you have the opportunity to bring your family members to join you through a UAE family visa. However, specific eligibility criteria must be met to sponsor dependents.
Sponsorship Eligibility
Under UAE laws, expatriate residents can sponsor their immediate family members, including spouses and children, provided they have a valid residency permit.
Income Requirements
Expatriate male residents can sponsor their family if they meet a minimum income threshold of AED 4,000 per month, or AED 3,000 with housing accommodations.
Recent Amendments
Since March 2019, UAE law allows employees from all job categories to apply for a family visa, provided they meet the minimum income requirement. Details can be found on the GDRFA website.
Sponsorship Conditions
Mothers can sponsor their children if the father is unavailable or ineligible. The sponsor must complete the necessary formalities within 60 days of the dependent’s entry into the UAE.
Visa Duration
